New Ontario Tire Stewardship Program

On January 1, 2019 Ontario’s new used Tires Regulation came into effect. The regulation establishes mandatory targets for tire producers for the collection and recycling of used tires in Ontario. ORVDA has assessed the requirements of the new tire authority (Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority or RPRA) and we encourage you to familiarize your dealership with the program governed by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Please review the information HERE.
- If you reported the number of tires you supplied into Ontario on a monthly basis to Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) and remitted fees to them prior to 2019, you are a producer.
- In general, producers are defined as companies that manufacturer tires or equipment with tires on them or companies who import tires or equipment with tires on them.
The ORVDA is working with the RPRA to ensure Ontario RV Dealers maintain compliance and meet recycling requirements with the authority. Please do not hesitate to contact the ORVDA or the RPRA team email@example.com or 647-496-0530 or toll-free 1-833-600-0530.
