Dealers experimenting — and succeeding — with virtual open houses

When COVID-19 hit, online life exploded. The good news is, it has opened up opportunities that will only grow as we collectively reinvent the economy.

As dealerships were forced to close, there’s been some interesting and successful experimentation selling vehicles online. In April, Wilkins RV in New York state began live-streaming virtual open houses via Facebook. Their events succeeded beyond their expectations — in fact, they intend to expand them, and include variations like “fireside chats” well after their dealerships physically re-open.

Wilkins’ next open house is this afternoon, Thursday, May 14th at 2pm. To see what they’re doing, register on Facebook.

As technology-savvy millennials continue to enter the RV market and the effects of COVID make RVing an increasingly attractive leisure choice, this is a great time to experiment with virtual tools.  Let us know what you’re planning. We’ve got a province-wide mailing list of over 22,000: we’ll help get the message out.
