Stage 2 re-openings continue
Campgrounds and provincial park facilities continue to open up
On Monday, June 22nd, the Ontario government announced that Toronto and Peel Region will begin Stage 2 re-opening on Wednesday, June 24th at 12:01am. As progress continues to be made stopping the spread of COVID-19, Toronto and Peel Region join the 31 other public health areas who entered Phase 2 June 12th and 19th. Windsor-Essex remains in Stage 1. Emergency orders limiting social gatherings and recommending the use of masks and frequent hand-washing remain in effect until June 30th.
Provincial parks and private campgrounds
Services are gradually being restored at Ontario Parks. This week, washrooms, drinking water and trailer sanitation stations re-opened. Backcountry camping is also now available at all provincial parks and conservation reserves. Full details are available at Ontario Parks.
All types of camping are permitted at private campgrounds in regions cleared for Phase 2 re-opening. Full details may be found on the Camping in Ontario website.
